Dear Yvette,

I have received nothing from you since your short English letter… In general letters are remarkably rare in these last times. It’s incredible. Imagine that since the end of the war I have had only three letters in all. But now more than ever, the lack of news from you impatients and inquiets me.  Have you gone already? What has happened about Ouri? How have you arranged the financial side? A whole heap of questions torment me and I can’t have answers without your letters. Have you received the 28 pounds I sent in time to help you? You know, darling, I would be happier than ever to know that you are already with Helene. Although I don’t know if your leaving Palestine will prolong our separation, I would be happy because you will be it. I know it.(???) Still no news about our demob. All I know is that I am in category 33. But when this number will represent my liberty and what sum of money HM will bestow on me- all this is still a great mystery.  However I believe that it will be quicker than is generally believed. Oh darling, how long they are now, the hours and the minutes!  Now wearing this army uniform is only time lost. For everyone. And for me above all. For I have you, without having you.

Write to me darling, my well beloved.

A bientôt,

Your Henry
