My darling,
Now the visa has arrived. Before sending you a telegram with my time of arrival I want to have the Czech visa and Soviet pass and my ticket. I must wait until Monday to do that. It will take until Wednesday or Thursday to complete the formalities, and then you will receive a telegram with the times. Everything is going well, my friend and I hope you are tranquil on the subject. Really there is nothing more to tell you for you will receive my Thursday telegram before this letter.
Yesterday I received your letter of the 19th, while that of the 22nd arrived here on the 28th. This correspondence is terribly irregular. Besides, darling, I must admit that your letter of the 19th made me a little sad. You seemed to me a little disoriented […]
You begin great apartment and furnishing plans. How do you have enough money to do that, my darling? I don’t have any idea of what you want to buy. Neither do you, it seems to me! But don’t be too prodigal with you riches, darling and besides, a secret: it, I would like it if we could choose together the objects to surround us.
Really I don’t know why I am writing to you about all that. […] We still have twelve days to spend separated by space. You see that is the misery: our hearts, our thoughts and desires, our love are one. And there is a space between us, between Henri and Yvette. We can no longer put with that space. I love you darling. Very soon we will kiss, caress, look at each other, we will be joyful.
Your Yvette.
